Cricket is the second most popular game in the world. it is played by many countries across the globe and it has been continuously evolving and developing during past few decades. In mid 2000 cricket saw a new trend of Cricketing Leagues involving different players from different teams around the world playing together in a shorter format of T20. List of the cricketing world by storm and got the eye of cricket fans and became popular overnight. the popularity of T20 league along with new marketing strategies and celebrities made these new leagues the talk of the town. since then cricket leagues have came a long way. many leagues are organised every calendar year and are celebrated like a festival in their respective countries. cricketing leagues like Indian Premier League, Pakistan super league, Australian Big Bash, Bangladesh Premier League and Caribbean Premier League are some of the big cricketing leagues.
1- INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE IPL
Indian Premier League is the biggest of them all commonly known as IPL. IPL certainly leads The Clan with a massive budget and because of its shared size, It’s the most attended League in the world Full stop IPL has seen some massive expansion over the years in currently its 12th season is underway. which of the team has to play two matches against each team, home and away in Round Robin format. IPL 2019 the eight teams playing the season 12 are Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi capitals (DC), Punjab Kings XI (KXIP), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Almost all the major players of the world play IPL with exception of Pakistani players due to the political reasons though they had played season 1 of IPL. IPL is known for its glamour and Bollywood masala blended with fast-paced high voltage Cricket. IPL’s success has been the model for all other leagues launched after it. So far IPL has 12 Seasons. CSK has been the most successful team of IPL winning at three times and is current champions of IPL.

2- Big Bash League BBL
The Australian Big Bash League is perhaps the second biggest League Also known as BBL with a sponsor name KFC. This Australian League was previously called KFC big bash tournament. BBL was started in 2011 Sydney Sixers won the first edition, Perth scorchers have been the most successful team winning three editions of KFC BBL in 2013, 2014 and 2016.Many a times the organisers of Big Bash League have Expressed their view point about the BBL’s Popularity saying that “BBL has a huge fan base and it represent some very high quality Cricket but we don’t have a million people like India to show our league to such a huge crowd market”
3- Pakistan Super League PSL
Pakistan super league commonly known as PS was launched by Pakistan cricket board PCB in the year 2015. it was an effort to bring back cricket in Pakistan as there has Banno significant cricket activity in the country since the terror attacks on Sri Lankan cricket team while they were on a bilateral series tour in Pakistan. Pakistan cricket board has been ever since trying to bring cricket back to Pakistan. PSL is one of the efforts being made in this regard. initially, Pakistan super league was organized completely in UAE with all the matches in the stadiums of Sharjah Dubai and Abu Dhabi 2015 till 2019 PSL has organized for successful seasons and in the recent seasons, few matches have been organized in the cities of Lahore and Karachi (Pakistan). This year in the fourth edition of PSL (2019) Final eight matches were organized in the city of Karachi. Pakistan versus to organize PSL5 completely in Pakistan in the Year 2020. PSL has been affected by players not wanting to come to Pakistan for the final matches of the league or due to security reasons. PSL slowly gained Momentum and more and more players are joining in as the league is progressing. Though previously far behind leagues like IPL or BPL’s player attendance ratio, PSL now has more and more key player from Cricketing world coming in and due to the improved domestic security conditions of Pakistan in the recent years more key foreign players showed the willingness to come and play PSL matches in Pakistan. Since its birth, this league has been progressing and evolving Its Cricketing standards also raising the bar of Pakistan’s Domestic Cricket. Many players have emerged and made it into the national team from PSL, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Asif Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mohammad Nawaz are few to name out of PSL success. Many believe that PSL is harder and fairly competitive League due to good quality bowling that Pakistan seasonal players and domestic circuit bring in to this league. 2 relatively small in budget PSL has been a financial success to the Board and the investors. Currently, city-based 6 team franchises are playing PSL namely Islamabad United (IU), Quetta Gladiators(QG), Lahore Qalandars(LQ), Peshawar Zalmi (PZ), Multan Sultans (MS), and Karachi Kings (KK). Islamabad United is the most successful team of PSL winning at two times in the PSL 2015 first edition and in PSL 3rd edition 2018.

5- Caribbean Premier League CPLT20
Caribbean Premier League is another successful cricketing League which was launched in 2013, and since when has organized six successful Seasons it is commonly referred to as Hero CPL T20, Hero being the sponsor Hero MotoCorp. Caribbean Premier League has been slowly growing into a major festival in West Indies. Caribbean Premier League has six major teams namely Jamaica Tallawahs, Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel, Barbados Tridents, Ghana Amazon Warriors Saint Lucia Zouks and Antigua Hawkbills. Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel has been the most successful team of the league and has won CPL 3 times out of 6 seasons.
