Why Amir is not playing ICC World CUP 2019

Why Mohammad Amir Dropped from WC 2019?

Mohammad Amir and Pakistan Cricket.

Mohammad Amir the Star bowler of Pakistan was born in April 13 1992. He is 27 years of age now. Mohammad Amir debuted for Pakistan Cricket Team ten years back in July 2009. He entered the Cricket World with a bang and was dubbed as the “Next Best Thing in World Cricket” very quickly. His Left-arm Fast bowling was a blessing in disguise for the Pakistani cricket team but then suddenly everything changed !

Muhammad Amir was caught in a Spot-Fixing scandal that shocked Pakistani Cricket and the whole world when Pakistan was on England tour in November 2011. At that time he was on his career peak in such young age. Many thought he could be the next Waseem Akram for Pakistan. Amir was the first one to admit his mistake and was immediately banned from world cricket for 5 long years.

Return of Mohammad Amir to Pakistan Cricket Team

After 5 long years of Ban and rehabilitation, Mohammad Amir who was still loved and remembered by his fans was finally given a green signal to play for the Pakistan National Cricket Team and on August 2015 he came back to the Pakistan side once more for the better.

AMIR RECENT PERFORMANCES

Mohammad Amir hasn’t been the AMIR he used to be in recent past. He has a below average record which is certainly not up to the standards we are use to expect from the Talented Mohammad Amir. Being Axed from the Test side already he has not been able to show his class with the bowl in ODI format as well. One Day Cricket has rather been a consistent struggle for the 27 year old Amir. As he has just bagged 33 wickets in 31 ODI’s he has played since his return back in year 2015. His Average is just 36.6 in ODI’s since return.

WHY AMIR IS NOT IN World CUP 2019 PAKISTAN TEAM ?

Everyone is asking Why Mohammad AMIR is not Playing?

The easiest and the most honest answer is his declining form. He has been a total disaster in Last two years especially after the Most Famous INDIA VS PAKISTAN ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY FINAL. Since that wondrous match where his heroics won Pakistani Team a rare Win against India in an ICC cricket tournament, every stat is showing a miserable story of his declining form. His Bowling average is above 90.00 Yes above 90 and a shocking strike rate of 120.00. There have been no lack of opportunities its just his performance which is heading downhill ever since that Champions trophy match. All this is happening when young and promising players like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Hasnain are emerging and knocking the doors of the selectors with their impressive performances in home series and in PSL-4.

CAN WE EXPECT MOHAMMAD AMIR’s RETURN IN World Cup 2019?

There is simply no doubt is Mohammad Amir’s Ability however its his continuously poor form that has made selectors to consider alternate options instead of Muhammad Amir. and Amir is Dropped from the world cup 2019 squad. But Wait there is still hope.

PAK vs ENG 2019 Series Last hope for Amir !

Yes Amir along with another not chosen young prospect ” Muhammad Asif” are still selected by the Pakistan Cricket Board Selection Committee headed by Inzimam-ul-Haq. There have been clear signals from the Selection board that if there is a considerable improvement in Amir’s poor bowling form in the upcoming series between Pakistan vs England then his selection is possible. He is set to have some matches before the ICC World cup 2019 in England and Wales where is has been lethal in the past. This PAK v ENG series just before the World Cup in the same conditions are one last opportunity for Amir to turn things around for him and make a wild card entry to the world cup squad.

Pakistan Team can select the final squad till 23rd April. Lets see if Amir can give us some magic though his performances in PAK vs ENG Series starting May 05- 2019.
